History
Established in 1993.
The original owner opened a store in Kapa'a following Hurricane Iniki. She moved the business to Hanalei and was one of the original tenants in Hanalei Center. Under present ownership since October 2016 we delight in finding unique new and vintage pieces to fill the store. Recent additions have included a collection of approximately 300 pieces of vintage clothing, primarily from the 60's and 70's, that is being added to weekly.

Yellowfish Trading Co. brings together an eclectic and unique collection of new and vintage items to the heart of Hanalei. Each step into our mom-and-pop shop is a treat for the senses, with the spirit of Hawaii in every corner. Our well-curated collections include a mix of new gift items, vintage lamps, Steven Neill sign art, mid-century modern offerings, and clothing. We genuinely love finding new additions to our shop, and we strive to have something for everyone. Whether you're a longtime local or a seasoned traveler, we welcome you to experience our one-of-a-kind offerings.

Steven and Cheryl had admired the unique fun and colorful items at Yellowfish since 2003. When they heard on the "Coconut Wireless" that the business may be up for sale they decided to approach the original owner to pursue the possibilities. Both of them had grown up with parents who loved to collect items, it was in their blood. They have enjoyed the hunt for items and the history that they're learning as they search, especially for Hawaiiana and vintage lamps.
